High Idle after GPR install?

I'm not sure if our trucks are supposed to have a high cold idle.
but, it never has before for me.

I installed the stancore, and now it started and idles at 1000 RPM's. whats the dilly?

Maybe the PCM needs to re-learn fuel delivery strategy on cold start up.
Really, I don't have a clue and have never head of that.

Take the battery cables loose and leave them for up to 5 minutes. When you re-install them it should re-learn most everything.

I stopped it and turned it on in the middle of that. and it stayed high. so i left it run for a few mins, and it smoothed out.

It never did that when I changed my injectors. So i have no idea why a GPR change would have done it.

I'll see if it does high idle on cold start again tomorrow.

chip idle is 1100

truck started with idle at 1000 yesterday.
and started today with a 900 idle.

both are high.

No idea what the deal is. Oh well. Maybe GPs workign so good it is making it run better at startup.
To bad for all the blue/white smoke i still get.

pcm strategy might make it idle higher with cold oil, but the relay swap and glowplugs have nothing to do with it. your truck's pcm has no idea what teh plugs are doing. it simply tells the relay to turn on or off.

Didn't do it after chip install at first either. Didn't do it till GRP install.

That's why i am so confused about this.

you have also been keeping it plugged in to get it to start up lately. i know when its really cold my truck will idle at probably 800-900 rpms until it starts to warm up some and my GPR hasn't worked for the last probably 2 years!!! haha. gotta love texas!! try unhooking the batteries for a little while though and hook them back up after about 30 minutes and see what happens, but that probably won't change anything..

yea. I am thinking if there is an Oil Coolant Temp Sensor, that its keeping the high idle till it warms up.
It's running fine otherwise.

Its probably the EOT. when you plug in your block heater not only does the coolant stay warm, but so does the oil. started my truck this morning and looked at the idle rpm and it was close to 900 rpm and it was like 45* maybe outside???? maybe 50*.. i'm not sure but it was kinda cool outside
