2000 mi on the oil. and blue smoke when it is cold no good black smoke even if it tried. io checked the turbo and it does not appear to have a ba d seal. what about injector o-rings?

it's a possibility. then again there's several possibilities when the truck is blowin blue smoke. if the smoke is just there on start up it sounds like you may have a seal in your head leaking oil onto the piston while its shutdown and when you start it up the oil burns off.

Remove your fuel filter and see if the fuel in there is black.

odds are its injectors orings. aot of people mistake cold morning smoke for oil. it is normal to have a blueish tint to it but it should smell like fuel, not oil.

Probably injector o-rings, but I had a few guys tell me years ago that the 7.3 PSD likes to have oil capacity showing about 1/2 way on the dipstick, not up to the full makr.
And wouldn't you know if I put in oil more than 1/2 way up the stick, it burns it off then keeps it there.
One one of my trucks, anyway. The other one it didn't matter, it would stay full.
It's 2 qts to go from 1/2 way to full, so I do w/o those 2 qts and it doesn't seem to burn anymore.
???
