Exclamation starter issues!!!!

well i went to fire my truck up after work to let it warm up and all i got was a click then no juice.i had a loose cable so i tightened it and it barely turns over so then i go and look at the starter and made sure all my connections were tight.and my solenoid moves about 1/4" so im GUESSING this is the issue.what would cause that to happen? any ideas on other issues that could cause this?

well, my last starter did that and it turned out the solenoid was loose because it was missing a bolt/screw. My guess is the vibration loosed it.

Ok, so the solenoid on the starter is loose? If so make sure both of the screws are still in it. And whatever you do, be careful if you tell a chick at work to hold the ignition while you crawl under and wiggle it to try to get it to start, it may or may not blow a fireball in your hand.

Phillips, well the ol girl didn't start one day after work and she would just click, so I figured the brand new wire I had just put on the starter was loose or something so I reached under the truck and the wire was tight, but the solenoid was loose, so I tried wiggling in and I could but I couldn't get it to stay long enough to start. So I got the girl I was working with (a pretty hot blonde) to hold the ignition while I tried wiggling it, and then zzzzzzzzzzzzzzt pow and bright light I came scramblin out of under the truck.
