2005 6.0 intake?

I've been looking at putting a new intake in my truck, i found a Airaid Intake System 400-131-1 that i found on xtremediesel.com, look good and so do the reviews, but......... is there anything better for about the same amount, looking for a good hp and torque increase, any suggestions?

I'm gonna jump in before you get a whole bunch of people yellin at you tryin' to replace the intake-- The stock intake is good for up to 500HP. If you're not exceeding that, then I would stick with the stock. It filters better than any aftermarket filter out there and provides more than enough flow for a mostly stock powerstroke engine. Aftermarket intakes with poor filtration can allow dirt to enter the intake and "dust" the turbo which will lead to turbo failure.

Long story short, I'd stick with the stock one unless you trying to squeeze out some serious HP.

Good luck,
William

I ended up getting the Wix intake kit, not for power as I do not believe intakes alone add any, but for the cheaper air filters. The kit paid for itself after on 2 or 3 filter changes IIRC. Also the ease of filter replacement was a plus. That giant oval Ford put in there is a PITA to take out and replace.
