Airaid vs K&N

Hello
I've got a 2004 F250 with the 5.4 2v. I'm looking to buy a new cold air intake, I'm just having trouble deciding between the K&N FIPK or the Airaid. They both look good, but the Airaid makes you keep the stock intake tube(good/bad?)

Thanks!

I like the K&N kits better because they come with more parts. New heatshield/airbox, new tube and lots of hardware. Filter wise, it's a half dozen one, six of the other. I do think k&N's quality control is slipping, now that walmart is involved expect it to get worse.

Highridge,

Check out the AFE systems, best designs and filter too, it stops the dirt the others let thru! If you have any questions on them just call us.

I installed the KN filter kit on my 03 5.4 and am more than happy. Could not tell any difference in mileage or performance, but it sure seems to run better. Plus it sounds cool.....One negative is in really, really cold air the unit will develop a whistle while engine is under load.

AFE kits are very similar to AirAid kits. Tube wise, if it doesn't Airaid makes I think they call it MIT, modular intake tubes. You could retro fit that pipe to most kits.

Thanks for the link.
It looks like the AFE filters are better at stopping dirt than the K&N.
I think it's between the airaid and AFE, which both are basically the same setup, except the AFE has a higher quality filter. Correct?
