Georgia. Total bill for four 265/70/17 incl. tire, bal, tax $993.42. The Goodyear Eagle GT II were purchased in July to replace the Continental. After many trips to tire dealer and dealership everyone agreed for my 4x2 expedition I need to switch to the michelin cross terrain. Was I dupped? Have you heard if it is another problem and they are covering it up with new bigger tires?
That is what I think.
I have not experienced any of these problems with my 03 4x4 (EB). However, on my last vehicle (Acura MDX) I had Michelin Cross Terrain, and they seem to be great tires.
I have a 03 EB Exp 4x4 and it has a noticable shack in the steering wheel between 65 - 75 mph. The truck only has 1600 miles. I have not had a chance to ask the dealer about it because I have been too busy trying to get the rail dust removed.
I just picked up my '03 Expy last week and I too have experienced the shake. I have the FX4 offroad model with only 300 miles and the shake comes on at 50mph+.
I'm going to call the dealer now and have it looked at. Let's keep ourselves posted on this problem. This issue looks like it's a common one.
My '03 has a mild vibration in the middle center top dash at almost exactly 60 mph only. The vibration is always there but it has happened enough to know that it is always near the same speed.
I think it is something loose under the top dash somewhere. It is not the wipers flapping as the vibration doesn't go away with the wipers sweeping. I guess I just need to drive faster than 60 to avoid the vibration
Doesn't bug me too much but since we're all talking about '03 shaking.
At about 60 mph I sometimes get a vibration in the center top dash. It doesn't happen all the time but enough times for me to say that it only happens at +60 mph.
I've tried activating the wipers (I thought maybe it was shuttering in the wind) but the vibration persists. It sounds like either something under the top dash or maybe the front windshield???
I'm not too concerned as it doesn't always happen. I'll mention it to the dealer on the next visit but I don't want them stripping the dash nor going on +60 mph test drives to find this problem as it doesn't seem too serious.
