Yep, I've been thinking about preparing to fix what's not broke. My truck has lots of miles. How many? I dunno, but I'm sure it's well over the 200k mark. It runs fine, really, but I suspect I've got some fairly worn injectors and the IP probably isn't that great either. So, the plan is to start slowly buying parts, then once I have everything, tear into it and hope for the best. I do have a question though, regarding the injectors. Would I be better off with the stock non-turbo application injectors or the G code injectors?
Funny you ask that question because i did some research tonight on that...I found that you can buy the non turbo injectors if you want but you can also buy the G codes and maybe get a little more snort out of it and be set up in case you ever decide to get a turbo it. I'm ordering a set of 8 G codes next week from dieselcare.com for 23.75 each for remans. Of course i'll get them pop-tested first. Check em out.

ya i would check the other place out i got sent 8 crap injectors full of sand and carbon so they where not even rebuilt so i would try the other place first
I've been thinking about getting new injectors myself...
BTW- there's a guy on oilburners who will sell you a set of new G-codes, balanced and pop-tested, for $270 with a return line kit, or $250 without the return kit. I've been thinking about that, as pop testing isn't too cheap to have done unless you build your own tester.
Good to know on the injectors. I haven't been on ob for awhile, I suppose I ought to go back there. After my pc died (hard drive went) I lost my links, and actually forgot about ob. Thanks!

they are BB code which the consensus over there seems to be that they are better because g code may not only be for turbo but for emissions the last year.
