This is false advertisment and ill have to tell them about that.

The forged rods really give out that easy? I thought the newer powderedized ones where know for that? If thats the case there goes another $2000 on a set of racing rods.lol

Your correct in the idea, but the theroy don't really imply to a diesel engine without a butterfly in the intake. They are not really false advertising but selling a product that is completle un-needed.

The GT40 and GT42 use a T4 or T6 flange. I would say that a T4 set-up would allow for you to go with alot of different turbo set-ups.

However, a modded H2e would def. make you happy as well.

I would find a diesel performance shop you like and talk it over with them and they can point you in the right direction.
Who could i talk to about it? I dont think there are any in the pittsburgh area. The only one i know of is pittsburgh power and they deal in big stuff like detriot 60s, C15, N14s. I think i may go with the holset though. Is the H2E a ball bearing turbo?

You could talk to Swamps, Beans, and Wide Open Performance.. they will all take care of you.

I am pretty sure an H2e is a journal bearing unit.

Garrett makes a GT40R and GT42R that are both ball bearing units.

Also, i just went back and reread your original post..

if you are going for 430-450hp you should consider a 38R turbo. It would really save some change and you would love the ball bearing unit.

maybe that would be the best route. I wanted to get the H2e so there was room to grow on it. I know the 38r is a good turbo but there is less room to grow on it. Guess i could always get it for my 02 and run the big daddy on the 95.

Well you have alot of growing in other places before the turbo is an issue. you can run the 38R while you save for Hybrid injectors. Those are like $2300 right there. Then a medium oil HPOP from dieselsite or terminator engineering or stealth. You will need to upgrade your fuel system some too.

If you want more than 400-450hp then you are gonna have to do a complete build. My build w/ a GT42 was gonna cost me $7500 w/out rebuild kit.

And I was going with WOP cyno'd rods.. add another $2100 on top that brice for Hypermx connecting rods.

Playing at 500hp is not very cheap with these engines.. hence why I am going w/ a 12v

Any other questions or if you want me to send you my price list for my build shoot me a PM

Good luck

Thanks alot. I have a price list for all the stuff i wanna do too. Its excedding 10000! It sucks that it costs us sooo much to make this engine fast. Internationals 444e and 7.3psd are very great engines and being that i work for international i hardly work on them casue they are so reliable. Sometimes i wish i woulda bought 6.4 powered truck. I do see your point on the 12v but im not a fan of mechanicals. I like the efficeincy of a electronic. I refuse to swap in a CR-ISB casue i have seen waaayyy too many burn #6 cly out. So maybe ill end up getting the 38r and 530s. Ill just have to live in the 450hp range for a while. Maybe ill give the wife my truck and buy a 6.4 in a few years.

That would be your cheapest bet and I think you would be very happy with the power and drivability of your truck.

Give Clay at RiffRaff a shout and he will take great care of you

When you say 530's are you talking about B-codes (BD injectors) or a set of hybrid 530 pistons and barrels in a A-code body?

If you are planning on B-codes you will want to invest in some are of big oil. B-codes and a 38R will have enough air and fuel for ~500 with the right tuning. At that power level, you should really be considering headstuds at the least, and the supporting mods fuel wise..

Stock B-codes have a 5 hole nozzle, you would be best to switch to some 7 hole psd nozzles and increase the nozzle size as well...
