I have a 1991 Econoline, It has rained here alot recently and I have alot of water coming in at the Top of the Windshield. What can I do to stop it? It's leaking real bad.
Go to Home Depot and get GE Silicon II clear, run a bead around the inside (glass) and outside (roof) of the moulding around the whole windshield and smooth the bead out with your finger forcing it into the grooves.
I think that is wasting time --- better to do a through job.
I have the same problem with a much newer van 2005.
Problem is rust that has worked in behind paint, etc.
Only solution is to remove windshield (which will probably break on you), then redo entire body near up to 3 to 5" from window frame, clearing all the rust to bare metal, replacing metal where needed, and then putty and paint... then wait for the whole mess to set properly...
Then Reinstall (if not broken) windshield.
This fix is worthwhile if you intend to keep said van for more than 3 years.
