Warranty for rust?

Hey, has anyone had any rust issues covered under warranty? Seems like the warranty is ten years or something like that. How do they(dealer) deal with something like that? If I have a spot the size of a golf ball that is growing under the paint along my wheel well(where a fender flare would sit), will they do anything about it? I really take care of my truck, so I find it hard to believe this would form on its own unless there was an underlying issue, but I also don't baby my truck. Maybe could have started out as a small paint chip and water got underneath it. Just curious. I don't want to have it spread up into the bed side when I can tackle it now and maybe even throw some fender flares on after I have stopped the spreading.

Thanks for any info.

Truck is an '02 F350 by the way.

My 01 started the bubbling a few years back. I called ford, rust is covered for 10 years unlimited mileage as i remember correctly, but there must be perforation i.e a hole or body panels pulling apart. The problem with the rear wheel wells is that there are two pieces of metal sandwiched together with a void inbetween the void is filled with what appears to be a fiberglassy insulation material, which would naturally hold moisture. My bed went from bubble to completely rotted out bedsides within two years time. I replaced the whole bed with a take off, but LMC truck now makes the cutouts. 169 per side as I recall. So to answer your question I think ford should do something about this issue, but did they....no. Will they..maybe if enough people complain!! Good luck!

My supervisor here at work has the same F150 that I do only his is newer, he had the common rust at the bottom of the tailgate with less than 40k on the dash. Had it repainted under warranty a couple years ago. Just traded it in a few weeks ago and he says the rust was already back through the new paint.

Also have a hole above the bed's wheel well. '02 F250

My Corrosion Coverage was 5 years/unlimited mileage.

Yup, it starts in a welded seam between the two body panels.

I have two older F-250's in the backyard, too. LMC body panels are always on my list.

That's weird, I live in the salt belt, and have no rust on the outside body nor the bed whatsoever. Underneath, the edges of certain things are starting to get a little rusty, but well, that's to be expected, I have to start doing something about it very soon
