429 rebuild ?
a few months back i bought a 429 that i thought was a 69 but ended up being a 1972. I tore it down and had it bored .30 over and need to get some pistons for it. I want to try and get around 450 Hp out of this thing and i wont it to have a lot of throtle response. I have the open chamber heads and decided to get rid of them and get some aftermarket aluminum heads. I was thinking the super cobra jet ones. I want to know what kind of piston will fit with those heads? flat top, forged? or is going with those heads not the right set up i need. I have been told the voodo cam will help me get there on my throttle response but i have been told you cant just put this and that together and expect it to work properly. "the Cam heads and manifold all have to be sync together" correct? Any help would be much appreciated as i dont know a whole lot about building one. It will be going in a 1946 ford coupe... thanks
