I know this has been said before but why not just get new replacement wiring and wire the truck when you switch the cab

why swap anything just fix the wiring one circuit at a time and have 2 trucks. if one has a crappy engine that can be the next project. i would love to have a 4wd and 2wd trucks. one low the other lifted. dont let wiring get you down i rewired my 89 chebby 3 times compleately. it sucked the stupid fuseable link would fall apart and arc to the body. needless to say i sold that piece of crap.

id pull the 78 body and all and put it on 76 frame should bolt rite up.
