ok so far when it stalls the lights do not turn off. i still hear a fuel pump run but this does not mean the in tank pump could be bad. i am going to get a fuel pressure guage and see if it looses fuel. i think the ignition is shutting off for some resone going to look into that as well
Are you saying the fuel pumps still run after the engine stalls and does not restart?
If so it sounds more like a computer problem than fuel. I would guess that the fuel injectors stop firing is why it stalled.
finaly figured it out. the relay is bad. or the wiring.
with the key on engine off if i hit the relay with a ratchet i hear the fuel pump re-prime every time i hit it. and i didn't even hit it vary hard. also noticed the relay gets hot.
so going to solder the wiring together (when it was replaced they twisted the wires and taped them) then see if it still does it. if it does i will replace the relay
well replaced the relay and re-did the wiring. it still stalls
so i hooked up a timing light to the coil wiring going to the Distributer cap and watched the blinking light as it ran. when ever it missed or stumbled the light would not blink it also would no longer blink when it stalls. so i think i am getting closer going to replace the plug wires they look like they have been on there a wile and the coil looks original.
will see what happens
also another interesting tid bit if i have a battery charger or jumper cables on the truck it will not stall but it i let it run off it's own battery and alt it stalls. weird (it stumbles and still loses spark but will not stop running)
alt puts out 13.9v-14.5v with the truck running (using a DVOM the guage in the truck is a little on the low side to what it really is) batt reads 10.8v with the surfice charge off it (why i had to jump it and bought a batt charger)

How many volts does the system have while the truck is running, does it hold a steady 14 to 15 volts? When you turn on the head lights it should drop then come right back up.
If the voltage is intermittently dropping down to low, it maybe in part the cause of your troubles.
Dead short / dieing cell in the battery or alternator problems, by giving it a jump or having a battery charger attached that is making up for or masking the sudden system drop.
