hey guys after reading quite a few posts about fuel pressure i decided to check mine. I rigged up a guage and found i have 50psi at idle i got a buddy to rev it up to 3000rpm and i still had 50psi does this seem normal to you guys to me its a little on the low side. Im just wondering if shimming the regulator would boost it up a little bit. (ps if anyone is looking for the m12x1.5 fitting i found mine at a hydraulic shop i went with a m12x1.5 to a #4 jic fitting and used hydraulic hose to the guage)
so if im only getting 50psi at an idle theres a good chance at wot i am going to be under 45psi i will have to make my hose longer and check it at wot
Yes, there is a chance. I know I was reading about 50 during normal driving, but when I was asking for it to move and move quickly it dropped down to 20 real quick. Now it did bounce back as soon as I let off the throttle, but the fact that it took a nose dive made me upgrade my pump real quick.

i've been wanting to check my fuel pressure too. i see the fitting you used, what gauge did you use?
I just used a 200psi nuview guage i got it at the same place i got the fitting. I checked it at wot today and it would drop to 35 when i stepped on it. I stretched the spring an 1/8 of an inch and got it to 57psi at an idle and 40 at wot. Whats next i am on a pretty small budget right now but i cant keep driving like this.
there is a new regulator base p/n# 9t517 and it seems to give a few extra pounds. also I have rune into filters that are new aftermarket that are causing restriction problems. Imo try a oem filter kit and the new 9t517
thats a whole kit comes with 0-rings, brass sleve and and regulator cover. make shure you put the bevel oring on the right direction. the bevel goes in and sits in the cutout grove in the brass plunger
