Anyone have one their not using? That little torx fitting in that plug is now a round fitting, which oddly enough is difficult to turn
I'm planning on replacing my IPR to see if I can fix a little slower start when the engine is warm and was planning on sucking oil out of the reservoir before pulling the IPR. Truck still works fine, so no great rush.
If no one has one, I guess I'll see what Ed can do for me.
Its a #30 Torx.
People are using allen wrenches and will soon end up like you did.
That's what I used, but the little teeth on the torx seemed to just rip right through the plug. I'm starting to wonder if the allen might have been a better idea.

Bob just sells the pump, right? The reservoir stays in the truck I thought. I was hoping maybe someone had decided to stick a gauge there and might have a plug laying around. I'll find out from Ed tomorrow if he can sell just the plug.
The Allen would have been a better bet, 'cause it's an Allen, not a Torx.
Pop
Well I was pretty sure it was a torx, but it looks as if I have no room to argue. Is it metric or SAE Pop?

Thank you sir. That's the kind of info I was hoping for. I've met Roland and talked with him on the phone several times. I'll shoot him a pm and see if he wants to get rid of his plug.

For whatever reason I thought of Roland as soon as I read the thread title.
