Here's the story, feels good too. A coworker of mine was contimplating getting a diesel to pull his race boat he just purchased not to long ago but I informed him and others informed to stay away from the 6.0 motors, for obvious reasons, well, he just scored an 03 7.3 Excursion EB edition with 118,000 approx.. on it. He loves it and we got to talkin and he said he's lookin to throw a KN cold air intake in it, I said o no, defintly not. I explained to him the dusting of the turbo and other issues surrounding that plus just some good ole fashion FTE guidance like I learned here. He even said he's getting a chip, bulldog, edge, bla,bla, STOP RIGHT THERE, I said to him, nicely of course. Proceeded to tell him the 4 or 5 premier tuners for our trucks and told him to come on FTE when he gets a chance and look me up, to just brouse around and get familiar and then post up your new ride. He though I was nuts, like a few other guys around but he knew what I was talking about. I kinda told him your truck is going where no other trucks been before, bad **** and done right from the help of these great people right here at FTE. How about a warm newbie welcome to him, he's really excited, thanks guys and gals.. I told him pop into the 7.3, thats where I am but he may shoot into the Excursion, I'll keep my eyes open.

Thanks Joe and Barney, couldn't have advised without all you guys help, your all a big part of this also, glad its not a mess, huh, lol.. All seriousness, his buddy has a 7.3 and he drove that and checked out his friends ride so he kinda got an idea, exhaust and CAI he knows but we'll help him with all the other ideas..He did tell me its a bit sluggish and I told him to come log on, we'll fix it..

 

When I first got my PSD, I felt it was sluggish also, compared to my 5.4 F-150 anyway. The PSD wasn't even stock. It had a BullyDog tune, but was "lazy" in normal around the town stuff. THEN I got my DP-TUNER and it drives like a totally different truck altogether. After having the truck for over a year and driving it 10K+ during that year, it took some getting used to after the upgrade to DP-Tuner. I've found myself turning around and saying...."sorry guys, I'm still getting used to the new tune". This was due to giving my kids getting whiplash when I was starting out. These PSD are beasts!
