Does Charlie Daniels play a mean fiddle? Try doing a Jim Rockford power reverse a time or two and don't get the slide quite right with a BII. I did it in the HS parking lot. Had it standing on two wheels for what seemed like a really long time. That got me kicked off the school property. Goose the throttle just right and play the bounce. Pretty easy to make the front end come clean off the ground to with a manual trans also. The BII is an extremely fun little truck to fart around with. Not to mention it is a fully capable off road vehical with a set of decent tires.
Yeah I bought the second Bronco II, a couple of years ago, for my stepson. Bought it for 600, spent 1500.00 gettin her roadworthy or offroad worthy. 9 days after he started to drive it like he was playing a video game, he rolled her upsidedown in one of the busiest streets in town! It made the front page of the local paper!
I told him over and over again...but I guess ya just gotta learn the hardway sometimes...I still want another one but nicolle says NO!
maybe after the current project!
They will spin around so fast in the snow too! Almost impossible to keep up with the steering!
I should clarify myself...it sounded like I was against the Bronco II. Just the opposite is true.
My first vehicle was a '68 Bronco...LOL I rolled it like two weeks after getting my license! I loved it and was devastated! my next Bronco was a '78 Bronco...I loved it too! then I bought an '85 Bronco II that was ten years old it had been sitting for five with a rebuilt engine, the guy that owned it didn't know how to setup the rocker arms on the 2.8L and he bent pushrods galore! I bought it for $300 and two days later I drove it to his house!
He was a little irritated but it wasn't my fault he couldn't read!
I put a used 3" body lift and 31's on it, drove it forever, but I got tired of it being a turd! that 2.8 is not a real puller if ya know what I mean!
But it was still a cool little timber buggy!
but i think that is the risk you take when driving this type of 4x4 suv....like the risk of car theft when driving a cherry red ferarri....you know its there, just have to be carefull
I owned one bought new for 12 years. It was a 4X4. Drove it hard with a lot of mountain driving. It was pretty stable. The reputation about them flipping was more about the 2 wheel drive version.
It was more about the Lawyers and nothing about the 2 wheel drive version.
Any vehicle can flip, even a Ferrari.
Will a BroncoII flip over when driven normally? No.
The BR II and ALL 4x4's have a higher center of gravity and ARE more susceptible to roll-overs. If you deny this you're just plain wrong. I think we all know that. You're 100% correct too, any vehicle can roll. I see a lot of them at the sales. The BR II was among the first soccer-mom non-station wagons. Carelessness and inexperience with SUV's landed a LOT of them on their heads. I started buying them salvage and repairing them in 1986 and most of them were roll-overs. Finding top/tail clips to repair them with was like finding a needle in a haystack.
I drove them and put my wife and babies in them, no problems. I loved the little Broncos and would buy another one if I could find a nice one at a deal.

I assume you post was a reply to mine.
I'm also assuming you missed the word NORMALLY.
The truth is that BroncoIIs will roll over and feint if you scare them... you know, like the goats.........
I think the biggest factor is the very tight turning radius. Once you figure out how quickly and tightly they turn, you shouldn't have a problem. You can make u-turn on a 2 lane road without using the shoulder.
A friend and I went to a college football game in his extended cab Dodge Dakota. He had to wiggle around a lot to get out of the parking lot, and couldn't get into some spaces my BII could have. I said "Next time we'll take my Bronco."
You can back a boat trailer like nobody's business with B2, thread the needle right past those people who take 45 minutes to get their boat ready to launch while sitting just above the ramp......
My '88 is a 2wd and the steering was pretty squirrelly until I put a stabilizer kit on it. I would imagine the correction problems could have led to some rollovers, but these vehicles are for ground clearance, not high speed turns.
