I don't know which tire is better between the Duratrac and the BF Goodrich but I do have the Duratrac's and they are great but they do make noise on the road. Prob obvious but just pointing it out.
How bad of noise? Drowns out the radio on the highway or you have to have the radio off to hear it?
Some '08's came with 18" wheels. The 20" wheels came available when the Job #2 trucks were produced (I think).
The Duratrac noise is not heard above a radio. It's not bad but you know they are there. Worst case is town driving (under 60mph). At interstate speed the wind and engine sounds take over, radio completely takes over for me at that point.
20" tires came on the Job #1's also as mine is a Job 1 and I remember reading a DieselPower Magazine article where they drove truck #370 from Texas thru New Mexico to California and it had the same 20" rims and Goodyears mine came with.
anyone have a truck with tires in the range of 325/65R18? (or equivelent diameter 20" rim) Trying to figure out how that will look on my truck.
I went with 35/12.50/18 tires on mine and now I wish I had gone with the 325/65/18. They are just a bit wider and I like that look. Both sizes are too wide based on tire size/rim width recommendations but my Toyos are wearing well and handle excellent, even on the factory 8" rims.
There are not many tires available in that size with a thread pattern I like!
I've been thinking of going with the Nitto Dura grappler. They are considered a highway tire but fairly aggressive and pretty deep tread. Reviews seem to be very positive and are reasonably priced. My stock Conti's are still on my truck and look pretty good for 50,000 miles. I gotta say, they've been good on the road & quiet. Just not what I want in the snow, especially not for a 3rd winter!
Which Conti's you have? They had 2 versions for our truck. Mine were the default then they had an optional set. Mine had the least amount of tread and traction. I compared the specs against other Conti's and brands..so I can't see how you got 50k with my Conti's. They're gone so I can't give you the exact name and numbers.
I've used Michelins for years. Just an all season. No A/T type and they always gave me good tread life. Not the OEM Conti's.

The tires that came w/ my truck are the Contitrac TR. Not sure if that matters. I thought all the 18" Continentals were the same. BTW- my truck's a job 1, build date 03/07.
FWIW, I just picked up a set of perfect '06 F350 wheels with tires, pretty worn, lug nuts and caps for $100. Two of the ContiTracs have 9/32" tread left, so I'm considering buying two more the same or better and running them in the summers. Anyone have a pair of good ones gathering dust in the garage? (Yes, I know most of you aren't big fans of the Conti - thats why you should pay me to take them out of your way )
Also, need two '06 RWD center caps, as these wheels were for a 4WD and two have the open center. Will sell or trade the two front 4WD center caps.
