What 81-f-150-explorer has suggested isn't a bad idea IMHO. My wiring harness was
similarly as jacked as yours, a factory wiring diagram helps GREATLY in figuring it all out.
I ultimately got another harness out of a JY, it took me about 3 hours to pull it and about
two weekends to clean all the connections & grounds, figure out the differences betwen AC
and non-AC (donor had AC & C6, I don't have AC and have a T18 4-spd). and install it.
I took as much additional, connected stuff from the donor as looked reasonably
possible... the alternator, regulator, solenoid, ignition module, all dash switches &
buzzers, the HVAC controls, cluster printed circuit, tachometer. Cost me $40 out the
door.
I'd been looking for such a harness in the junk yards for a LONG time, but most I
encountered had been hacked by previous owners. I really lucked out on the one I found;
even though it had AC and auto tranny, everything was pristine and hadn't been dorked
with; ALL of the opriginal connectors were still intact, even the radio.
Thats a nice find. What I don't get is, why do people have to half *** stuff and not just fix it right, if you fix it right, you more then likely wont ever have to fool with it again.
We have our last football game this Friday and after that I will have a lot more time on my hands to look into possibly fixing a lot of these things. I know of two local bone yards just minutes from my house that I will check with first. Should I keep this post going if I have anymore questions or should I just start a new one?
It's probably easier for us if you continue this one; we can easily look back at the history to
try and remember what the situation is/was.
I my case, a PO had added a bed-mounted camper onto the thing, and they did whatever
they did to have electricity in there. That doesn't justify the hacks to the wiper switch
wiring, or the radio, or the way they melted the fuse panel. *sigh*
I have seen many butcher jobs and always wonder why they did that. In my 89 F250, the wireing was totaly messed up, they bypassed the ignition switch with a house switch! A door bell switch to start the thing. No wonder why the engine spun a few bearings when they ran it out of oil when none of the gages/idiot lights worked! The wireing was so far gone I used the wireing harness from a 87 F150 including the whole dash assy too.... Don't get me going about the fuel lines!! Supprized the truck didn't burn!
my hazard flashing works only onthe right front and mirror but the normal flasher works ok both sides andfront and rear. Should I check the switch or the flashing unit, I would bet on the switch on top of steering . I would accept any opinion or past experience on the matter. Thanks in advance for the help. By the way it is a 2004 f250 w the v-10

First off, welcom to the forum.
Second, you would probably get better help if you posted this in the appropriate forum.
