I was in the junkyard today and noticed one of our year trucks with the a/c box under the hood. It had High Output in raised letters on the black plastic casing where the accumulator would mount. Is it a stronger electric motor? Is it rare? I have never noticed this before. The heater hoses went directly in the case.
From what I understand, the High Output Heater is an option to non-A/C trucks and all A/C'd trucks were equipped with the High Output Heater. Someone correct me if I’m wrong here... I think it uses a different heater core but I've never actually seen a high output heater option in my yards. What the hay, get it.
I had the HO heater in my 85 and currently have the "regular" output heater in my 86. I have'nt noticed a difference in either one. Both seem to work fine warming up the cab.
up here in the great white north most trucks have them.all three of mine have them.but any temps below 0 deg f i barely get any heat in the cab of any of them, just comes out luke warm.so i don't think you guys are missing much.
