OBD1 may be fried

Please help..........Can any one tell me what to look for? My motor home is on a Ford chassis. I have been trying to find out what could be wrong. I have replaced the Distributer, distributer cap, rotor button, starter, plugs, plug wires, module, ignition switch, coil, and fuel pump. It still will not start. It doesn't get fire, or fuel. Its a 1994 Ford chassis, 460 engine. It will crank, but it will not start.

Thanks

Pull the codes. Find the EEC Test harness and put a jumper between the STI and Sig-Rtn lines, turn the key to run and codes will flash on the check engine light. See ford fuelinjection.com for lots more details.

Does the fuel pump cycle for a second when you first hit the key?

New user myself so I'm far from an expert but see if it will start with the SPOUT plug pulled. As I understand it this removes the ECU from control. You also might pull the codes and see what comes up.

It will not give me codes. I plug the code reader in and a light comes on. I trun on the key and the light goes out. Nothing at all with the key on. No flashing or any thing. I think its my OBD1. But no one know what I can check to tell if the computer is bad.

The spout plug just disables ignition advance not computer control, so it won't have any effect on starting. The computer must see a PIP signal from the distributor before it will energize the ignition and injectors, but the EEC must also be powered up and the fuel pumps running too, so check that there is power at the main EEC and Fuel relays.

Is the EEC the main computer or something else?

If you pull the SPOUT connector out this will allow the spark to return if the PCM computer is stoping the spark and you can see if it will try to start by spraying starter fluid in to the air intake. You do not have to have the computer to get spark but the computer can stop the spark.

It sounds like your injectors are not firing and if you have spark and power to pins 37 & 57 with ground pins pins 40 & 60 on the PCM then I would say it is a good bet the PCM computer is bad.

Is the motorhome on an E-series chassis or the F53 chassis.

Is it an E350 (class C) or a F53 (class A)?

Why does it matter if the fuel pump stays on or not?

Because if the fuel pump comes on with the key and stays running and you did not crank the engine either the fuel pump relay is stuck on or the computer is bad.
This is for stock ford wiring.
The wire from the computer to the fuel pump relay may be shorted to ground to cause this also but this is unlikely.

yep the fuel pump stays on for a while and seems to continue to run. Also another funny thing my truck does is I cannot retreive any codes and it is running extremely rich. I think the injectors are being told to stay on full blast by the pcm.
