Hey guys. I've searched high and low and can not find what I need. I bought the Recon Projector headlights and they came with no install instructions. I want to know a couple things. First what all is involved in removing the old headlights.what all has to come off?
Second question is does anyone have a wiring diagram. I would like to know which wires do what? I want to know what wire does daytime running lights mainly. Just considering different ways of wiring new lights. Thanks for any help.
The headlights should just plug in which is why they didn't come with instructions. It would not be wise to hack in to the headlight wiring.

I've done that also.
FYI its NOT easy to get the light out without removing the grill. BUT the grill is a piece of cake to remove. 4 bolts on the top of the grill (same size as the headlight bolts) remove those... let the grill lean forward, and with a long flat-driver there are 4 (maybe 5) metal flex tab clips...
with your flat-driver reach down between the back of the grill and the radiator frame and push the end of the driver between the metal tab and the frame and the clips will releaase.
With the grill out of the way the headlights come out WAY easier.
And a trick for getting the headlight bolt-screws back in. Use a magnetic 'retriever' get the bolt-screw positioned on the end of the magnetic tip and work the bolt-screw back to the position from the edge and you can get it inserted and about a half turn with the magnetic force. then put your driver with a socket on the end on it and tighter her up.
I probably made it all sound WAY harder than it really is. But I can get the grill and both headlights out in about 4 minutes. Same fot getting them back in.

Try searching the superduty section next time.
There are plugs for the main but bare wires for the led and halo lights. I know how to wire them just wanted options for what comes on for DRL. I searched alot and nothing was coming up. Thanks for your help.
If you contact Recon they can prob send you an email on how to do it
Sent an e-mail, no answer yet. Called and found out what the bare wires were for. Probably do it tomorrow. Just should have had directions, and wish I could find DRL source. Thanks.

After you get them installed, could you uploaded some photos and bump this thread. I'd like to see how they look on your truck and get some opinions about them. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with the OEM lighting on these trucks...just like to know what's out there in the aftermarket world.

I can definately do that for you guys. I know what you mean. They are not cheap and even when I ordered them I was hesitant, You just never know and wish you could see them on. But now that they have arrived and I can hold them in person they do look really good.....Now it's needing to see them on. I'm going to try and do it today, it just depends on whether my son naps and lets me get it done before my daughter gets home from school.

I know exactly how you feel, though for me the gender in school is reversed. I'm certain I'd rather do a head stud job on my truck that teach my daughter to write her name I'm not going to say anything more than she thinks she knows what's best for her.
Ok, finished as much as I could. They found out yesterday that there are 2 different sockets for 05 front signals. I have the ones that don't fit of course. So I installed anyway but there will be no park/signal lights on in the pics. These are day pics and I will take some night ones once it gets dark out. I really like how they look and Recon did an excellent job on build quality.
Look great! Congrats! Bet they'll be fun to get lined up. I'm sure the people driving in front of you will love you also =D
Actually I marked the wall before I started and when I put the new ones in the matched perfectly. Then I adjusted them down just a bit because they were never adjusted after I did my Icon lift. Real easy to adjust too. And thanks!
