This was my first try at a patch panel. I think it came out pretty good

Looks great, Ive tried a few small patches myself but they didnt come out as good as yours. Ive gotta get a better welder. What kind of welder you use?

I just got a millermatic 140 autoset its awesome 120v. If you would like check this site out they have a online layaway plan thats how i got mine. Its Welding Mart - Your Superstore for Lincoln welding equipment and supplies! .... The cool thing about my welder is the auto-set funktion because im a novice welder it automaticly sets the speed and heat range when to dial in your diameter wire your using and thickness of metal. Pretty cool and you can also dial in your own heat ranges if your feelin frisky. I think ill put a plasma cutter on layaway next lol..

On sheet metal like this it's almost a guarantee that it's completely penetrated. If in doubt, if it wasn't completely penetrated you'll be able to see the edges of the two pieces of metal rather than a cooled puddle shape.

Is that 140 usable on frame work. Lets say you were going to box the frame or put a different engine in, could you use it to put in new mounts? That site with the lay away is trouble, soon I will have a lot of things on lay away.

I used a angle grinder with a cutting wheel and it was a piece of cake.

lol, yeah its trouble. My 140 can weld up to 3/16 steel any thing thicker and i would have to get a bigger welder or use co2 for better penatration.

Almost forgot thanks guys
