I just ordered the 203 thermostat, so hopefully that will solve my issues. I did not buy a new water neck yet. I'll take my chances at first. I can get one later if I screw this one up.
When I did my 203 I got a new water neck, locally, and it leaked like heck so I just cleaned up the old one and used it. One year later and all is still good.

...With the new t-stat and waterpump (I broke one of the filler neck bolt in the pump)...
I also did this, but was determined not to buy a new pump. So I took the water pump off the motor and mounted it in a vise. I drilled out the broken bolt, pretty easily too, I was surprised. I then stuck a bolt up through the hole such that the hex would be on the bottom side of the pump when installed, and the 'stud' was now sticking up. I used 5 min JB weld in the hole before installing the bolt, and around the bolt head.
So now I have a perm stud sticking up and just need to run a nut down the stud to tighten the neck down.
Took about 30 min. to do the whole thing.
Thought I'd share for anyone else with the same problem, instead of having to buy a new pump.
I had the same thing happen to me. The truck would never reach normal operating temps, even in the summer while towing. I replaced the thermostat with one from Autozone and its been fine for a few months now.
