Heading out on a 10 day hunting trip at the end of the month, was wondering what all you would recomend to have in the tool box as far as spare parts go? Only obvious one I have seen so far would be a CPS i think. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
spare belt, maybe a gallon of oil in case it were to get low, fuel filter, maybe an anti-gel like diesel kleen (depending on temp.), simple metric socket or wrench set... just blurting out stuff i like to keep on me
I have my old belt, and a large bottle of DK, as well as a decent truck tool kit, but I forgot just how important oil is in these engines.
The whiskey is a given, will be with some very scottish born and raised montanans! i am more of a beer guy tho, so guess I will drink half of one of those cases in the garage before i leave and put 4 quarts of oil in as a replacement
I like to take a spare hub bearing, 37"spare tire, fuel pump, motor oil, tranny oil, way to change said spare tire, o-rings for everything, 2-cps, and a box full of tools. I also carry 1/8" pipe plugs(ask Duckfan) and a assortment of caps. I'm sure some will chime in that have seen some of the stuff I carry, but hey, where I go I'm my only help. I'm not including all the recovery equipment cause I figure you know about that sort of stuff already. Have a blast, and yeah it's overkill.

Hey Andrew, whats jumpers goin to do if your the only truck out there? LOL! I would suggest a jump box myself. But those are lil a costly. You would need an extreamly powerful one to jump our trucks. But your right though, it doesnt hurt to have a set of 4 gauge wires in your truck for any reason. Just be sure to pack enough socks and an extra pair of boots. Every one ^ there has pretty much said it all. Just dont shoot yourself or your bestfriend! Good luck and good hunting. Oh yeah, one more thing. Take some pictures!
I have the usual stuff as well: 2 CPS's, hoses, belts, fuel filter wrench, spare I/C clamp, battery cleaning tool, jump cables, oil, ATF, water, tool box with SAE & Metric wrenches, cheap multi-meter, bunch of fuses etc. I go to the boonies a lot with spotty cell service so I don't have a fall-back if something goes wrong.
