I recently purchased a black door panel from the salvage yard in hopes of painting / dyeing it to match the rest of my 1978 Blue interior. Has anyone had any luck getting a close match of color? I have used the rattle can plastic paints on other vehicles and was very pleased with the outcome. I am just having a problem getting anything close in color to these blue interiors. I have found one that is a bright blue similar to our ford blue engine color and one that is duller lighter blue.
I know this is a long shot but thought I would ask first and maybe keep me from buying numerous cans to try.

i would paint all the interior parts and for best results you need to first clean the plastic and then rub down with a damp cloth of paint thinner it will open the pores of the plastic and aloww dye to stick. don't use alot of and be carfull to much and youll melt the plastic

yes mine is blue. honestly i just went there and grabbed some that looked the same. i didn't get the glossy paint because it was almost purple. i wish that i could get the color code for you but i'm deployed to Qatar at the moment!!!

Thats a pretty good excuse, My younger brother spent some time their a few years ago, he did not like it much. He said the work was good just didn't care for the temperature swings. He was Air Force (22 years).
Thanks for what you are doing, get home safely to your familly.
