Owned my 2000 7.3 PSD 4x4 Ex for about 3 months now. Im getting crappy mileage, about 12. I have 285/75/16 for tires and have an Egde programmer set on level 2 and have the 6637 mod. The Ex has 239,000 miles and I do run b100. Any one else have the Edge progammer and get about 12??? Is the programmer the reason? ANy help would be great.
There are a lot of factors that can affect your fuel mileage. If you do a quick search in the 7.3L PSD forum using the term "mileage" the results should give you a lot of threads and posts running down the possibilities for you, more than my tired brain could ever try to do tonight.

Isn't level 2 used for towing? I've used Level 3 that I used to get combined 15-18 mpg combined with my 2000 F350 from 13-15 mpg. I changed my foot as well. I didn't used to hammer on it since the Edge help out a lot in acceleration unloaded.
Good luck in your quest to find out what is wrong.
Part of what's killing your mileage is B100, it's a solvent and has strong lubricating qualities that ULSD lacks. It works wonders for your truck, but it kills your mileage and power. I usually run a tank of B100 once a month to clean out my fuel system and keep things lubed up; other than that, I'm running ULSD with some Diesel Kleen.
Per Stewart's suggestion, I'd recommend something other than the Edge setup you've got. They make awesome power, but don't do much for your trans. Save your pennies and get yourself a DP-Tuner, you won't regret it. Jody not only knows how to make a 7.3 run, but he knows how to adjust the trans for the power the engine is putting out.
You should also look into a 4 inch MBRP system, it makes all the difference in helping your truck breathe better and get better mileage. If the money for an MBRP system isn't available, I'd get a Walker BTM welded in place of the stock setup; it's not a 4 inch system, but its way better than the restrictive stock muffler.
I run my programmer at level 3 and get about 15-17 mpg running pretty hard at 75 - 80 mph and that's in some hilly terrain. My mileage drops quite a bit for in town driving and will get as low as 10 mpg for short runs in cold weather. That's calculated mileage, not as reported by the lie-o-meter.
I agree with Toreador I have a Dr. Diesel Predator module with the 6637 mod and the 4in MBRP and I get on average 17mpg. With cruise on long trips I've gotten over 21mpg with ULSD and some Diesel Kleen.
Just returned from a round trip to NYC from Salt Lake City. Averaged about 19 mpg from SLC to NYC, no load, back roads for the most part, about 65 mph or lower most of the time. Position 3 on my Edge.
Return trip, pulling a 4500 lb Uhaul, interstate all the way, averaged about 15 mpg at 70-75 mph, should have been in position 2, but I forgot and left it in 3.
I have the DP F-5 as well and consistently run B99 bio in my 2000 7.3 TD. I also have a K&N Fipk and magnaflow 4" turboback. I am averaging 18.5 mpg on bio.
I get crappy mileage too. Edge evolution on 2nd setting. 35.5" tires and a heavy foot don't help. It is what it is...
Sounds like you need to reagear like I did, 35s and 3.73s did not agree with my truck or my wallet. As soon as I regeared to 4.10, my mileage and power went back up...

That's already in my plans. Hopefully soon. I have the gears already, just need the $$$ for the labor, and find somebody good to do it.
Funny thing is how many i have seen people arguing against re-gearing. Most claim you can just custom tune it and it will overcome all the power loss... I tend to disagree. And you are one of the few proponents of regearing and have the experience to back it up! thanks!
Also want to add: My truck only has about 30K miles on it, so it is still breaking in - hope to see mileage get better and better. And I'm at 4700ft elevation... it takes more foot in the throttle to get the big diesel rolling up here...
