It was nice here today as well, but probably one of the last days. Had a wiener roast for supper kind of thinking it would be the last of the year. Supposed to rain tomorrow I hear, with a high of 8. Ugh! I'm gonna put some more wood on the fire right now!

Supposed to be cooling some here as well. No rain called for until Sat or Sun. I'm working then so let it rain.
There doesn't seem to be many folks in the Alberta chapter. Or in the same area of Alberta anyways to arrange meets and such
What's all involved in being a chapter leader in smaller chapters like this
Not much you can do but try for a meet or two. We have the same issue with people spread about and not many interested in posting in their local chapter. A couple active posters can keep a chapter busy and get more interest. We had one fellow that had time to post from work and kept things moving. We lost him a few years ago to an avalanche.

I lived in Hinton for 11 yrs. Nice to be living in a little milder climate. In the winters anyway.

I lived up near High Level for about 14 years and that's some cold climate there. I know one week we had -52°C every morning. I think pretty near every winter we had about 2 weeks of -40°. It just gets tiring. 2½ years ago I moved down about 5 hours south and it's amazing how much warmer it is, sure we hit the -30°C and -35°C but that's still better!
Depending on my fame and fortune and God's good leading, but I think some time I'll head further south yet. Gonna drive down to Mexico for Christmas to visit aunts uncles and cousins so we'll see if I end up liking it there. Haven't been there in 12 years or so.
When I lived in Vancouver it would hit minus 10 to 14 for about a week every year and people would complain about how much colder it was in Vancouver than in the rest of Canada. "It's a wet cold" they would tell me as I stood there in my leather bomber with no insulation wearing a shirt and maybe a t-shirt. I would try to tell them that -45 with a 40mph wind was a whole lot colder, so cold we would turn our backs to the wind and walk backwards to school. I would tell them how we put duct tape on our balaclavas to protect from freezing our faces off. But no, as far as they were concerned Vancouver was the coldest place this side of hell. "It's a wet cold" Hah. I moved to Calgary because of the warm dry weather, last year was the exception to the rule in the 13 years I've lived here. 3 years ago I did the body work on my 78 on the street in front of my house over the christmas holiday it was that warm. There was'nt that much bodywork to do as the truck never got used in rainy weather or in winter, but the paint is still on the truck. Right now the weather is almost perfect for me, not so warm that it wears me down or makes me weak and not cold at all. Ian Tyson was right when he said the weather is good in the fall. That snow fall we had put almost $700 in my pocket just because I have a truck, some spare time and an electric chainsaw.
I'm from the east coast and yeah the wet cold is much worse then a dry cold. The moisture in the air chills you to the bone much faster. -20 on the coast and -30 here feel pretty close at times lol
Originally from Ontario, that moisture coming off the Great Lakes was always a real treat in the winter.
Now that I have been out in Edmonton for about 9 years, -40 is about the only time I'll complain. Dry cold air really gets to the nose better than Vicks vapour.
Still workin at co-op till Hopefully Friday.
