I have 01 Ford F250 7.3 diesel 4WD. I just recently replaced the U-joints and hanger berring and the defferential sensor. Now when I go to drive its like it stutters when i start to accelerate from a complete stop and it will barely go at first. But once it gets rolling down the rd it's fine. Anyone got any ideas?
Yes. A small 4'' leveling kit i think w/ 35's. Im not sure about the lift bc i bought it as is and no ones been able to tell me if its a lift or leveling kit. I got the trans scanned and the shop is tellin me that i need a new speed sensor which is on top if the trans tail. Easy fix hopefully. Why u ask about the lift?
Cause if they lifted the truck and didn't put a spacer above the carrier bearing it will cause the same thing. Mine did it really bad till I went back and put my spacer in. You need a quarter of an inch of spacer for every inch of lift. See if your rear springs are stock or do you have after market blocks. And check above the carrier bearing and see if you have a spacer there.
Thats a good idea. Y didnt anyone tell me that i wonder. It makes perfect sense seein how if the driveshaft is in a bind it wont operate like its should. But also the truck has been sittin for 2 yrs and barely drove during that tiime. It also never did it before recently. Also my "overdrive off" light is flashing at me. Thats why, for now, Im gonna go w the sensor, But i am goin to space out that hanger berring. Good call man.
Also, there are 2 blocks under the leafs, but im not sure what that means cuz i dont know what originally is supposed to be there. It looks like a factory block w a 1'' on top of it. What does that sound like?
Sounds like a three or four inch lift in the front and a one inch in the back. since the front was probably lower to start with. I would probably add at least a half inch to my carrier bearing. A half inch piece of steel cut to the shape of the bearing bracket is all you need. Drill a couple holes and two half inch longer grade eight bolts.
