Anyone got a tip or trick to remove the block drain plugs?
Mine are rusted solid into the block and no amount of effort on my part could budge them. Tried PB Blaster and soaking them.
I can't think of a way to improve leverage in the tight space, so short of removing the engine or drilling them out is there anything else to be tried?
I'll try a hex-bit socket on an impact and see how it goes.
Don't have one in the tool box so it won't be tomorrow, but trying it after the block is warm is a good idea too. Thanks.
I used an 18" pipe ext. on my allen wrench. It didn't stand a chance.
I thought of that but the pipe I have handy is too big. Maybe I'll grab something smaller from the home store, would be good to have. Was that a regular length allen wrench or a long type? I think I'd need to get it out past the manifold.
This one it feels like I'm rounding it out.
Tonight I think I need ibuprofen for the amount of yarding I did on that thing ... didn't even tickle it.
