CAN ANY SHOW ME THERE TRUCK WITH THESE LIGHTS,AND IF YOU HAVE THEM WHAT KIND AND HOW HARD WHERE THAY TO PUT IN? ALSO CAN YOU STILL HAVE YOUR STOCK FOG LIGHTS AND THE PROJECTED FOG LIGHTS WORK AT THE SAME TIME.. THANKS GUYS
Wow-those Xenarcs look good! I've only seen Osram/Sylvania in the Real HID lights and they're ~$800! Ah--you know what--I think Xenarc is the name Sylvania uses. Have you found a bargain or did you spring for that kind of money?
Yeah, the original poster is talking about different lights. They aren't a true HID, although they can use the simulated HID bulbs. They use a projector lens system (much like a movie projector) and could be pretty good and a lot cheaper. They have an integral fog light, which, I'm sure, could be wired either separately or with the factory fog lights if properly done with relays.

I was wondering about those projector lights as well. Does anyone know if they work great? I have heard the swap to Lightning lights is a good mod too.
According to the Sylvania web site this kit is made for the 98's and above. They say that it can be installed in a '97, but it will need some type of modification to the bracket. My questions is what type of modification?
Projector lights can be very good; I have factory projectors on my 300ZX. I don't know how good the Ford replacements are. Note to ExpeditionGuy: If the instructions allow the integral fog light to be on at the same time as the main lights, you can wire them to go on with the factory fogs OR independently. Note, however, that it is illegal in some states to have more than 4 lights on at the same time. As a practical matter, unless you're stupid about it, nobody will bother you, but I would still wire them separately. No offense, but if I have to tell you how a relay works, you probably should have this done by a pro.
As for modifications for the '97's; I previously looked up the instructions which are posted on the Sylvania site (Acrobat software necessary). I have a 2001, so didn't pay much attention, but as I recall it involved some minor filing.
The Lightning units are also a good option. I would suggest you consider the Harley lights, which are very similar except they carry the amber reflector along the bottom. This matches with the bottom type reflector which is used on the Lightning and Harley corner lights.
I doubt that any of these options would be as good as the Xenarcs, as the arc type lights put out much more light per watt than any filament type bulb, and Sylvania has apparently done a great job of designing them, but there is that cost!
