Adding Traction Controle in an 09

Picked up an 09 F350 SRW 4x4 V10. because it was an off the lot vehicle, there were a couple of options I'd like to add.

possibly the simplest or next to impossible one is traction control.

do I just need to find the unused factory pigtail under the dash and plug in a button?

I cant imagine they's use different computers, but maybe a flash would be needed.

this seams like such a simple mod. someone must have tried it.

Why on god green earth would you want this? Seems that by controling your right foot the tractions will take care of its self...... This is why we can't have a truck that is simple and works.

I have to say I completely agree with this. I'm driving my truck and I don't want a computer to be able to apply my brakes, change my throttle or turn my steering wheel. I can understand ABS but that's as far as I'll go.

If you don't want it, don't buy it!

Have any of you guys ever driven a car or truck with it? Had it on my '05 Mustang back when I lived in upstate NY. That thing was rock solid in a snowstorm, and it was something I trusted my wife to drive in bad weather. It may get stuck, but you would NOT lose control in that thing.

I wish my '08 had it! I don't really think it's necessary for myself, but I've already told my wife I'd rather her not drive my truck in bad weather, as doing the wrong thing at the wrong time could have bad results.

I also have it in my work truck, which proved very useful last winter. Spinning up the drive axles is a fast way to a tractor jackknife. This type of jackknife is nearly unrecoverable once it begins, and nearly always results in complete loss of control. I will NEVER rely on this system to keep me in control, but it's a really nice thing to have just in case.

What's so wrong with something that can prevent loss of control while not impeding a driver's control of the vehicle?

Also is nice when unloaded going uphill in the rain. My last truck would break loose on wet pavement under moderate acceleration. With this system it kicks in and I never even feel it. Even if I pin it up a wet hill. Not necessary but nice. It is disabled when in 4WD as it's not needed then.
