My experience with two stroke oil

I have a 2006 f 350 no mods other than cat ran away and leveling kit. I have been running two stroke oil since jan. 1. I am very pleased with the way my motor has been running. I pulled my egr valve in july to check it since last dec and it was the cleanest it has ever been. I farm for a living and my truck idles more than it drives. I just wanted to say thank you to the people who suggested using it.

PorchFarms,
Very interesting report...

Did you clean your EGR valve when you inspected in Dec? If so maybe the cleaner valve could be because it's doesn't have as many miles as it did when you originally inspected it?

Well the valve had about 20000 miles on it since dec. I put about 50000 miles a year on it going back and forth from west tn to south and west texas harvesting cotton. Since jan. I have hauled with the truck one tractor that weighed about 15000 pounds about 100 miles and one that weighed about 25000 pounds 75 miles. Not considering my fuel and water trailer that has 750 gallons of diesel and 1500 gallons of water. Its a dual tandem gooseneck and my single rear wheel hauls it better than my brothers dually. He does not like running the two stroke.

Thanks for the report... I've been on the fence about trying 2 stroke oil, but I'm now experimenting with a product called Liquid Muscle and it is basically Soya Oil for lubricity and designed for diesels.

I have been running 2 stroke also, but I did it because it is quieter and smoother. The fact that you idle a lot( EGR function is all at idle) and you have a clean valve is a great plus! Ashless oil strikes again!

My EGR valve is also just as clean as the last time I cleaned it. I can tell because it is sitting on a shelf in the garage. If the Goracal come by I can show it to him.

I had a guy in a cummins question me one day at the pumps what was i doing. I told him that diesel and two stroke come from the same place. From crude oil. That some of that stuff in the other additives can strip paint he looked at me funny. So i helped him add some to his truck and then we drove about ten miles. He got out and was amazed at how quiet his truck was and how much more power he had. I told him the oil will help burn the fuel that diesels dont usually burn he was impressed so we exchanged numbers and he called a week later talking about how he gained fuel mileage. That he told all his buddies about it. So when word gets around i am sure that two stroke will go up in price

How much ashless 2 cycle oil do you add per tank full?

Is that enough to make the color look like off road fuel?

I use 32 ounces per fill up. It sort of turns my fuel a blueish green color. I just use the wal mart super tech oil in the gallon jug. Cost me about 3 dollars a fill up but its worth 10 dollars a tank if i can keep my truck out of the shop. By the way my 06 has never been in the shop. My brothers 04 has been a regular visitor to the ford dealers. Could be the year model difference. I dont know. By the way i have started running two stroke in all my equipment and my two semis. Cant wait to see what epa says. But it should not be too bad

Never seen any red 2 stroke oil, only blue. I have been using the 2 stroke for almost 2 years (27,000 miles) never gained or lost mileage, could never tell the quieter claim. What I did see positively was the starting of the engine when it was 20 deg. or colder. No more stumbling for a few seconds or puffs of white smoke on startup. I use the 1 oz per gallon formula like other people do. One of my customers is a Amsoil dist. and when he heard I was mixing this oil, he gave me a case of Amsoil 100-1 ratio synthetic tc-w3 oil as a gift. (12 quarts) I have about 119,000 on my 2003 and the EGR has never been removed, so I don't think it is doing any harm to it. I would like to see some scientific study done to see the real effects of burning 2 stroke with diesel because many people who begin using it claim it's quieter, or their mileage went up while others claim no change to a slight drop in mileage. I might be what is called the placebo effect in some cases.

I have been using the 2 stroke oil about 1-1.5 oz. to a gallon for about last 10,000 miles. That is good to hear about the egr i was wondering about if the oil would cause a issue with egr valve.
