Chris what in that link would not make you want to use 2 stroke oil? unless your driving a 6.4 with its greater emmission stuff. but this is the 6.0 forum.

That was a great link!
But
As just stated, the way I read it, it is one of the cheapest ways to improve ULSD for the 6.0.

Not sure why you stated not to use it?

I am one of those that did notice the motor become a bit more "quite".

The diesel place study is why I decided to go with 2stroke oil. I use twice the amount tested. Which will put me above optilube in lubrication. I'm using roughly 200:1 at 1oz to a gallon

Makes a damn good case for biodiesel too, doesn't it?????

But.......FWIW--it doesn't do anything at all for injector stiction which seems to be the #1 cause of injector failure.

Hmmmm..... I guess we all can stop debating about this one now.

Chris, Thank you for posting! I have been torn on this issue.

Now..... Where the heck can I get my hands on some of that OPTI stuff

Another ?

Do those of you that use 2 cycle oil use synthetic or non-synthetic 2 cycle oil?

I've been using the super tech that Walmart sells, I have 1.5 gallon and when this is used up I will switch to Amsoil synthetic. A friend of mine gave me a case of it.

Hey guys google two stroke oil composition and look at the ninth search result. It is brick yard website. Talks about using two stroke in newer vehicles with dpf. Pretty interesting

200:1 is what they stated the test was done at, unless I misread it. I'll just stick with my B10 and DK, seems to be working for me. Great info, Chris, thanks- Rep given!

After re reading my own link (going from memory is suspect anyways) the 2 stroke is great for lube. But it was only one brand they tested. Are all other brands as good? That is my problem with it. That and the fact that it doesn't up the cetain rating. I use the diesel clean or now about to try the motorcraft additive. The diesel clean gets the lube up to a little better than manufacturers specs. Maybe a little more is better, but the manufacturer knows what they're talking about I would think.

I run Diesel Kleen and two-stroke oil (left over from my race team) 16oz of Diesel Kleen and 8oz of two-smoke in a 25gal fill-up. Runs way better, no better mileage.
Fuel's so damn expensive that these additives don't raise my price per tank that much.

There is no gain from double dosing, unless its the white bottle for the anti-gel in colder temps. You only really need 8 oz for 25 gal. fuel- 1 oz per 3 gal fuel, as per the back of the bottle, last I looked anyways.

Here is what I use in my 05 F350. That truck runs great off it. I dont have any complaints. Just one bottle per tank.

I've been running the 2stroke for months now. Quieter, runs smoother and improved mileage. Just found out that my diesel now contains 5% Bio-diesel. That should add enough lubrication, given the study from the previous post. Any reason to still use it?<O</O
