Did you replace the original rubber bushings in the leaf springs?! or are they still the faactory vulcanized rubber? The rubber goes to crap after years, and that will give you a sag also, I had to replace them on my first 66, they were shot all to hell,,, Energy Suspension is the answer there. If you are strictly worried about 1/2" and it is not in the leaf spring bushings, I would go with just a spacer, leaf springs with different rates side to side aren't as easy to find. I would check ALL your rubber bushings in the rear leafs first.
Or, like 37 Ford says, find an uneven surface, or carry a 1/2" piece of wood and slip it under the tire when you park.....

My head is starting to tilt to the right..........hey - truck is looking level!!!!!!!!

Pickupmanx2 - that's what I wanted to know if the rubber bushings in the leafs made any appreciable difference. Still, seeing how I changed the springs enough times I doubt that is the cause (remember I put the original '66 left side leafs on the right and it made no difference). Can't seem to find a 1/2" spacer - all are 1" or greater. If anybody knows of one let me know.

Secondary question - now with the front coils corrected and the rear leafs almost corrected, my '66 sits almost level, ie., very little forward rack to the truck. A level in the bed shows just a few degrees of forward tilt (backend sits just slightly higher than front). What was normal for this year truck? My '77 has a visible forward rack which I like the look of.

Did you keep the "donor" springs in the front or go back to the originals? I ask the question because if I remember correctly, one of the tech articles for converting to disc brakes suggests using the original coils because the later model coils are a little taller and would raise the ride height. Did you notice any change in height (other that being unlevel) when you first did the swap using the donor coils?
I don't know what the original rake is supposed to be but I agree I think they look better with a little forward rake. You could always put some drop I beams on it and tilt it forward....

I used the '73 donor springs - a good point you bring up 37Fordguy and I recall now reading that somewhere. However, I measured the diameters of the springs and the '66 springs are thicker than the '73's!

and I should have added that I held them next to each other and they were the same height, or very close.

hmmmm........did your ride height noticeably change with the '73 springs or is it about the same as when you started this conversion adventure? If you want the truck a little lower in the front, you could probably cut a coil off the springs without changing the caster/camber much. Just a thought.....
