great piece.i just bored my 360..060, stoked,390 crank with custom cam. balanced. run, sounds good. 9.5 compression. 10+ mpg. in 74,f250 hi-boy . again good job. if had to do over would have rebuilt 460 and get it over with...
Have a '75 F-250 SC with 435 4-spd and 4.10 rear. It had power to spare and scooted down the road quite fine, till it was "loaned out". Am rebuilding a 390 to replace the 360 - will add headers and swap the 4 barrel off the 360 onto the 390 (2 barrel ) The base difference is the 360 seems to be a "destroked" 390. Am looking forward to starting out in 3 gear again.
Broncoholic1 - I didn't make a habit of starting out in 3d gear. The engine at that time was running very strong/ good clutch. I did it just to show some Chebby friends that "I could". Their 350's would stall out. Also had a 4.10 rear to help out. They could take me for 0-60 - BUT - chaining the rear bumpers together, I cuold pull them - I had the tires & weight advantage.( still have the Ford canopy attached )
