Question Need Electrical Expertise Help

Okay it's getting down to where I'm going to have some extra time on my hands and start getting my rig ready for the BIG HAUL in a few weeks to the NC mountains to retrieve Christmas trees. I am fixing to install all my serpentine brackets and accessories that I bought from a fellow FTE member. The help I need most with is wiring for the newer style alternator. My truck is a '92 7.3 N/A model and this setup is off of a '93 7.3 N/A.

Can anybody provide me with a very detailed wiring diagram or make a chart showing me how to set it up since it is different from my factory setup. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also where can I get the plug-ins for it.

Also on a side note. The setup I received came with some pulley spacers but I do not know whether they go on the crank or water pump. Any info on which and how many goes where would be nice also. Thanks guys.

This sounds like a picture or two of a 93 or 94 setup would be good.

well yes and no.....the alternator thats with the setup I have is kinda similar to the ones they put on the powerstrokes with the three bolts holding it down from the top. it has the one wire that bolts to the back, and two plug ins. The pics of the manual do help me for the orientation of the a/c and power steering bracket. Also where do those pulley shims go and how many?.....DAVE, DAVID?

This is your alternator:

Here's the wiring diagram for it:

And here's an install article for a Mustang, but for you it will be very similar:

Thanks that helps a bunch on the alternator. Any help on the pulley spacers? MLSC do you think I really need a charge cable that large?

Went outside and looked at my taurus which has the same plug ins and wires and I have got my wiring figured out for the alternator. Now all I need to know is where the pulley spacers go. Two are the same size and the third is smaller round and has the golden galvanized look to it. The larger two are kinda black looking with one I'm think goes on the outside of one because it has the circular scuffs from lock washers I have seen before. I just do not know whether they go on the crank or water pump or both, nor how many where or whatever the case may be. Anybody please help me on these so I can get it figured out. Thanks

I know it would be extra work, but if you install everything and the belt is not straight, you will be able to figure out where the spacers go.

I like V belts so I am no help on a serpentine setup.

No help on the pulley spacers from me either, I run V-belts, modified and rearranged but still V-belts. On the cable - 4-gauge should work fine, 2-gauge is better but probably not necessary. The only reason I put 1/0 welding cable in my truck is that I already had it, so I didn't have to go and look for new cable.
