hey guys i need some help on this one, on the way to work today i had my first encounter with a slipping clutch in this truck. the TC locks at 36 and i drive in that the majority of the time, i take it easy ont he truck but i do get on it just like every one else, it only sliped when the tc is locked and i only let it happen 1 other time than the first time just to make sure that it was slipping and not just a fluke. no shuddering or anything, no flashing OD either, what do you guys think, does this deffinetlly sound like a torque converter?im full time in school and dont have much more than 600$ to work with, i finally got the money for my stack kit and now i cant use it for that FML! any suggestions on what to buy for a TC and will i smoke my tranny by driving like an old bitty around town?my dad is convinced that if i bring the truck in and have a full system flush with some good fluid that i will be fine for now, what do you think?thanks guys, any input will help!
so can a chip cause some confusion or something with torque converter lock up??? i cant get the truck to slip now for the life of me, doesnt matter what setting im in or how hot or cold, it will not slip, deffinetly a good thing on my behalf, but what the hell was going on!
haven't touched the chip, nope, sometimes it does start funny and falls out of high idol several times in between long intervals of use... crappy ts switch! lol mabe i should send a pm to my tuner and see what he says
