Hey I was wondering if anyone knows of somewhere I can get a rebuild kit for an H2E. I bought it used off of ebay and there is too much end to end play so I am looking to rebuild it. I saw beans has an H2E upgrade mod for like $650 or something so that might be good... Yay, nay??? Or if there is just a rebuild kit for a few hundred that might work better for me right now. Tight budget and all.
I think Bean's is if you send it in they upgrade it to flow more.
I rebuilt my H2 years ago, kit was like $75 and super easy to do. Turbo lasted 2 miles before the impeller ate the housing.
Never again will I rebuild a turbo. Needs to be checked and balanced, IMO, and left to professionals.

Left to the professionals, that is a statement I will never believe in. I've seen professional's work time and time again, and in most cases it is nothing to brag about. I gaurantee when I do a repair or mod on my truck, it is done correctly and/or better then if I took it somewhere, because it is mine and I take pride and care in what I do. Shops are looking at how little time they can spend on something and how much money they can make, period; its the main principal behind business. Not to say there aren't some good guys out there, and this is in no way slanted towards you, its just been the conclusion I've come to over the years. I think many of the people in this forum are testament to the DIY movement. My 2 cents.
But anyways the question I have for you DZL JIM is what is the difference between a 160cc stage 2 and the 180cc stage 2?
i bet you could get any good turbo shop to rebuild it and make sure it's balanced. some can even balance them better than when they are new. i would check that out.
