Kingpins

Replacing kingpins with a rebuild kit, is it a job to take to the mechanic or can I tackle it in my garage? What makes this job difficult?

From what I understand as long as you can get the pins and bushings out then you may not need to take it to a shop until you need to get the bushings in. Once they are in they may need to be reamed because the bushing may compress while they are being putting them in. If they don't get reamed then the pin itself may not go in right or have the play that it should.

Of course if you have access to a shop press and a reamer then you could do this yourself. Check these sites out. They are for older trucks but I figure kingpins are kingpins.
