I live in Spokane Valley (kind of, in county) If you need any help let me know! I get Motocraft Oil Filters at Wally World, they're only bout 18bucks. I go to Huskey International to do fuel filters, 40 bucks vs 70 from Dealer. Yea, you're talking about windy, it was worst last night though, I still havent picked up my yard. Anyway, if you need a hand or a place to change oil hit me up. You can also take the used oil to any of the transfer stations and drop it off for free.

Nice! Thanks for the info. I am roughly in the Valley, Veradale actually. You must be the one who buys wmart our of Rotella too! haha

So I roughly feel comfortable doing the oil on this thing. Not so much on the fuel fiters. I will need fuel filters some time this fall, been about 6,000 miles now. Would you do them for a 12 pack of beer?

Where are the transfer stations at? In Montana, we just used to dump in the river... nah just playing, but living in MT it is really easy to deal with this stuff.

And yeah, the wind actually kept me up last night. First big wind storm in this house, not too much carnage, though I need to put my summer stuff away.

So far i'm still using rotella 15-40, I think i might try to find 5-40 syn for next oil change to head into winter. I normally do oil changes at 5k with fuel at every other change 10k intervals. The nearest transfer station for you would be N. Sullivan up by Trent. I'm working today (Cabbed Up at the moment thank god.. hehe) through Weds I work till 6pmish depending on the day, but if you want to get together later this week, i'd help you out for a 12 pack. I have the correct size sockets (36mm and 24mm if i remember right) and torque wrench to get everything off and back on properly. Hit me up. If you can figure out how to pm me, pm me with your email and we'll figure something out. Welcome to Spokane! We're probably not that far away from eachother, I'm out in north valley up by Sullivan/Wellesely.

Well I got off my butt this morning and changed the oil, it was fairly easy given the Ford instructions in the tech folder. I would definitely go with the 5/40 Rotella Synthetic. I was $80 for just the oil, but well worth it. Quiter and smoother.

I am probably going to change the oil again soon though, unless this is normal. I checked the level before starting it and of course, it was clear. Then after letting it run for about 5 minutes, when I checked the oil again, it was fairly dirty already. The engine was at operating temp when I started the oil change. I hear there is some residual oil, but I wouldn't think enough to make it dirty already.

I live off 32nd/Saltese between Barker and Sullivan. So not that far from ya. Do you mind if I look you up when I do the fuel filter change in a month or two? Do you have any experience with an EGR delete also? My buddy in MT is doing my 4 inch exhause next month, but he has never done an EGR delete.

Thanks!

Diesel oil generally gets dark pretty quick, they won't stay clean like a gasser, but the oil is designed to hold more soot so its fine. There is generally 1-3 quarts left in these engines after draining the oil, but you should be able to go a normal oil change interval. For Rotella synthetic I'd go 4-5k miles between changes.

Yea, when its time for fuel filter change lemme know. Like I said, I go to Huskey International for the filters, $40 vs $70. Did you get your Rotella T from Wally World? I looked there this weekend and it looks like they only stock 3-4 at a time unless they have more in the back?

Yeah, I bought 4 gallons last Sunday, which emptied the top row. The bottom row had some as well, did not check to see how many. At least they had two rows of it at one time. I don't think they get that it takes 4 gallons.
