Does anyone know where the EEC is located???

Hey, does anyone know where the trucks computer for a 1984 f150 4x4 with the 300 is located? i know for a fact it is not behind the passenger kick wall or behind the glovebox. Any help is greatly appreciated.

its defiantly not under the seat. There is nothing up under there except 4 bolts that hold the seat to the truck.

If you pull the cover face off of your gauges, there is a computer looking brain between the steering column and the ashtray. That may be it.

now mind you this is a 85 with 5.0 but mine is under the dash positioned vertically to the right side of the steering column.

The one I saw was silver and looked like a metal wall behind the gauges. There were also a bundle of wires that appeared to plug into it. Jeramy that is what I am speaking of. The truck I looked at was an 85 with a 300 six.

I can let you know tomorrow. My 83 does not have this. The truck I saw was an 85 in the JY that I am going to in the morning. I removed the dash gauges today so it should not be that hard to remove. It may be easier to remove the dashpad and pull it up from the top.

You can also get easy access to it by removing the dash top pad and working form the top down. Just be careful when removing the pad not to crack it if it is still crack free.

hey i got the computer out! it wasnt that bad once you take the dash off. I have another question tho, on the side of the computer before i took it off, there was some kind of relay switch hanging on the right side of the computer. It is squared shape and has about 6 wires running out of it. Anybody know what it is?
