Check engine light after muffler install

I have a 98 f150 4.6L 4x4 with 166k. after I put a new muffler on and some new exhaust pipe, the check engine light came on, if I disconnect the battery it will go away when i restart, until I rev over about 3000 rpm, then it comes on again. I took it to advance auto and had them scan the code, and they said it was something like "auxillary emmission control" or something like that, Does anyone know what this means? or how I can fix it?

I would suggest you look at the downstream 02 sensors. Check for damaged wiring to these,and general condition of the sensors. Pull them,and inspect if you have the proper socket.

Some mufflers and pipe combinations can theoretically interfere with the EGR system. What is the actual code, the description you gave seems awfully generic.
