The 6.0's are really sensitive as to what oil goes in them. Cheap oil or the wrong grade will cause injector troubles. That's not to say that your not doing your maintenance correctly, so please don't take that the wrong way....But if you bought the truck used as many of us do. How did the last guy treat it? Did he do his maintenance or just drive it hard until he was done with it and trade it off. If you haven't checked out the 6.0 tech folder yet....It's good reading.

These injectors are the back two on each side of the engine. It is possible that low fuel pressure damaged these four injectors first. The 6.0L injectors are VERY sensitive to low fuel pressure.

Have you ever:
run out of fuel?
found either of your fuel filters plugged when you changed them?
got a tank of bad fuel?
go past 15k miles before changing the fuel filters?

Also - you should only use Motorcraft, Racor, or International fuel filters. The others may let water through, deform, or blind off early, etc.

Many people have over 133k on their original injectors. There might be a cause for these failures .... that could still be there.

Did you have them check the fuel pressure while it was there?? I'd be really interested/concerned what it is because of all your back injectors failing.

I'd be interested in your your fuel pressure as well. Those injectors aren't cheap. I might be adding a fuel pressure gauge next summer. Too friggin cold out to do it now. npccpartsman & bismic, reps for both you guys. Great info.

FICM not Injectors

I had the run on 4 cyl symptons when cold for the last 6mo, i just new my injectors where going south at a 149k, until last Sat it would not run at all. I ruled out hpop and got a Brand New FICM off Ebay for $150 and the nice seller was a International Tech and took it to his work and flashed it for me.. Now my truck runs like it should Cold or not..
Big props to this guy for selling a New unit at a great deal and the free programming..
