I wanted to see if anyone might have some suggestions for my truck. I currently run a 466 solid roller high compression motor it makes power from 3000 to 6500 rpm. I estimate it would make around 550hp. I run a c6 with a 3500 stall and a 205 transfer. I have 4.88 gears with lockers front and rear. I run 37" boggers. My question is what gear should I run and should it be in high range or low. I have been running low 2nd and going to 3rd if needed. I was thinking I should be maybe running high 1st and going to second if needed. Any suggestions would be appreciated. The mud I run in is usually 18-24" deep. My last run was a 3.81 on a 150' pit and I just thought a different gear approach might get me a little more. We just dont have many races for the trial and error approach. Thanks
I have never had that kind of power before but I think you have enough to pull Hi Range. My friend with a built Ranger with 460 stroker runs Hi Range with like 100 mph wheel speed. But I think he is also using NOS, lots of torque. Good Luck
