So the guage light keeps coming on. I have drained about a gallon out of my HCFM and it kept coming on. I finally left the plug out for about 10 minutes and let it idle for about 20 minutes so far it hasnt come on again, but I have not driven anywhere yet.
This happened after it took about a month to change out my front hub wheel bearing, so I was not starting my truck or driving it. Could this be the cause of the light coming on? After draining that much out, how much do I need to worry with the water? I only had about an 1/8th when it was sitting, and I filled it up today.
I would not worry to much, but I would suggest putting some fuel aditive it as well, like Diesel Kleen. I had it happen to me as well, no matter how much I drained it the light would come back on. Had to take to the dealer and they had to replace the unit. They said if the truck sits for a while with water in the seperator it starts to gum up, and or corode on the sensor. So they just replace them. It was under the 3/36,000 warrenty.
Good luck
