I was wondering if anyone had some info that may help me. I have a 2009 F150 Lariat without the back up sensors. Both my 08 and 07 had them and I wish I had them on my 09. My question is I was wondering could I just put the factory back up system on my 09. The dealer pulled up the system and gave me a price on the sensors, module, retaining clips and wiring harness. I don't know what makes the beeping sound inside the cab and if the wiring should all be the same.
The other question is that both of my other trucks had a turn off switch in case you were backing a boat etc to turn it off. I have not seen that switch in an 09 nor did the dealer show one for this year. Does anyone know if they did away with that turn off switch?
Thanks so much.
As far as adding them, IDK. I am sure you would need a new rear bumper too.... Odd that your lariat does not have them. Do you have the lariat plus package?
As far as the shut off switch for them, it's the trip reset clicker in the instrument cluster. When you are in reverse, in the same place were your mileage usually shows up it will say park aid on/off, you push the trip reset button to change it.
i tired turning if off in reverse by the cluster but i am guessing the sensors have to be installed before this will come up on the mileage cluster? it shows nothing at this point

Yes, I am sure they would have to be installed for the the systems to pick it up.

Why would you need a new bumper? I am thinking of getting the system installed via an aftermarket system and can't think of any reason a new bumper would be warranted...
If you are doing an aftermarket, you can use the same bumper fairly easy where the camera installs. But I want to put the factory so the two holes in the bumper have to be drilled. Just saving the money on a new bumper is all. If the holes don't come out perfect then I would buy the bumper. I think the tools from my friends machine shop would make the holes close to perfect. I don't knwo where the beeping sound comes from so we are taking out the system on my friends 09 and plug it in without drilling anything first to make sure everything is right, then I will buy it from the dealer. We want to make sure there is no special module or whatever that is inside the dash that makes the sound.
i think the beeping sound might come out of the speakers. i know when i get close to something in reverse it automatically turns the radio down and starts beeping. then when i get farther away the radio turns back up.
