Upfitter Switches

Wondering what the amp rating is on the upfitter switches on a 2006 f-350. Dreampt up 2 options:

1. Looking to take the "Hot at all times" wire and going straight through the upfitter switch to my equipment.

2. Looking at taking the "hot at all times" wire and tying that into the upfitter switch as its power supply. One power supply used to power the switch relay and my equipment.

Wiring diagram on attachment:

Your owners manual should tell you. If you don't have it, go to ford.com and download it - free.

The actual switches are not rated for much at all. All they are designed to do is turn the relays on and off. As far as the relays are concerned, don't assume they are rated for more than they are fused for. I believe two of them are 30a and two of them are 10amp.

For your 2007 the upfitters are rated: switch #1 & #2 - 30 amps, #3 & #4 - 10 amps.

It is very easy to make them hot at all times,
just find the upfitter relay in your fusebox and remove it, then make a jumper wire to go from the constant hot terminal plug to the upfitter feed terminal plug and you're all set.

Have you verified the actual switch has these ratings? If you look at the diagram, the relay is doing the work, the switch has no load on it except the relay coil.

I wonder too about the wiring going to the switch? Is it big enough to handle 30 amps on the two 30 amp circuits? I am thinking it may only be big enough to handle the load of the relay coil.

I am referring to the upfitter circuit, not each individual switch itself.
The switches will not handle that much current, just the relays that they control.
The load ratings that I posted are for the upfitter relays because that is what you are hooking your accessories to.
