Will a C6 from a 360 motor (the guys said it was from a 1969 f100) fit on a my 352 motor? I haven't had a chance to check my bolt pattern but figured somebody might know of hand.
I agree, and want to add, get the flexplate too, you will have a flywheel if you have a manual, and you will need to remove the pilot bushing out of the end of the crank shaft.
What about a 4x4. I have a 65 f-100 4x4 with a 360 4 speed that I would like to make an automatic. will a c-6 match up s far as bell houseing, length, and out put shaft to match up to my existing driveline. Thanks Van
You will need a 4x4 model trans. if your tc is married to the trans. Forget about converting a 4x2 trans to 4x4. You may have to move the TC and re-do DS's. The tape measure is your friend prior to making your first move.
The tc is divorced on the 65, but I dont know how long a c6 is compared to my 4 speed. Would it be as simple as changeing the shaft from the c6 to the tc? And is there a Ford part for that? In other words did Ford make a v-8 automatic 4x4 in the 65 configuration.
Bill it sounds like you are saying to get the engine to mate to the tranny I need the flywheel in your post. What about at the output shaft, does ford make a shaft that will go from the c6 to my transfer case.

All I listed was the flywheel/flexplate info for 352/360/390's.
The same A/T flexplate (C5AZ6375D) used with a 1968/76 F100/350 360/390 C6 is also used with the 1965/67 MX Cruise-O-Matic used in 1965/67 F100/350's with 352's.
It also fits 1965/67 352/390 Passenger Cars with FX or MX Cruise-O and 1966/71 352/390 Passenger Cars with a C6.

I don't want to be the first to mention this, but don't I remember a 65 4x4 uses a 64 type frame? That being the case, you have problems.
A 65 4x4 should have ears on the bellhousing which serve as the rear motor mounts, same as the pre 65. If you use a car type or even 65 2wd and later, nothing will support your engine.
That's not to say you can't buy an aftermarket crossmember, treat it like a 64 and start over on the engine swap. You would need that plus a trans crossmember just to mount the engine. Now being a divorced tc you need a 2wd trans, either way the automatic is longer so you're going to need driveshafts made for both axles and possibly to the tc. And of course an auto shifter.
That's not a truck you're just going to bolt together from a junkyard, sorry.
First year Ford offered a 4WD with an automatic transmission: 1973.
1965/66 F100/250 240/300/352 4WD's use the same type of engine mounting system as 1961/64 F100/250 223/262/292 2WD/4WD's and 1961/66 F350's.
An L shaped bracket bolts to the timing cover and to the channel front crossmember.
If a 240/300, there is another bracket that bolts to the L shaped bracket, then to the crossmember.
One upper and one lower rubber insulator is used. One fits above, one fits below in the center of the crossmember.
To understand how the rear of these engines are mounted, read the above post.

1967 and later 4WD's use right and left engine supports (aka perches, stands, towers) that bolt to the frame rails, because there is no front crossmember.
