I came out from work today, pushed the clutch in, fired it up and it would not go into any gear, I ended up shutting it off, putting it in 2nd and going, it does not want to go into any gear. But if I shift it without the clutch (hitting shift points) its good, no slips, no problems. I replaced both the master and slave about 70k ago. Something feels different in the clutch pedal, like its to easy, doing nothing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Typically when the master/slave go out your clutch pedal will go to the floor and stay there. If it is coming back up but not all the way I would say your clutch fork may have given up the ghost.
Yes it does make a noise when the clutch pedal is pushed in. The pedal is way too easy to push now, I checked to ensure the rod is still connected from pedal to master cylinder, and fluid is full no signs of any leaks, but no that I think of it, it's been funny shifting into some gears for a little while now.
Sounds like the slave to me. But I would replace both slave/master are they still under warranty. I just went through this my pedal stayed on the floor so I replaced the slave but that wasn't the problem so then I replaced the master and all is good now. Both at Auto Zone with a life time warranty for about $110 IIRC
Pull the slave out of the bell housing and use a screwdriver to feel where the fork is. If it's bent, you should be able to figure out it's too far away from where the slave rod sits.
Dion I could mash my pedal in by hand and hear a hissing sound like fluid leaking past the seals in the master and thats what my problem was but I am glad I changed the slave also it made it shift easier. I had only had my new clutch in a couple weeks when it happened. We had just got back home from RRE
